About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Structural Design Engineer to join our dynamic team at GHD. This remote opportunity allows you to leverage your expertise in structural engineering while collaborating with a diverse team across the globe. As a Senior Structural Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in delivering innovative solutions for medium-to-large scale building projects.
What You'll Do
- Apply engineering principles to analyze and design safe, efficient structures.
- Utilize FEM analysis software to conduct thorough structural simulations.
- Ensure compliance with international design codes, including British Standards, Eurocodes, and American codes.
- Produce comprehensive design documentation throughout all project phases, from concept design to Issued for Construction (IFC).
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate structural designs with architectural and MEP disciplines.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to convey technical concepts and project updates.
- Stay updated on the latest engineering tools and methodologies to enhance project delivery.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a Structural Engineer, with a strong portfolio of medium-to-large scale projects.
- Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software such as ETABS and SAFE.
- In-depth knowledge of international design codes and standards.
- Experience in delivering projects within the Middle East, familiar with regional standards.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
- Registered or in the process of registration with the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) in Qatar.
