Senior Purchasing Manager - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Purchasing Manager to join our team at Groupe Pomona, a leader in food distribution. This Senior Purchasing Manager remote position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to our mission of providing high-quality food products to our clients. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that our purchasing strategies align with our organizational goals.

What You'll Do

• Guarantee the achievement of assortment and quantitative, qualitative, organizational, and financial objectives in product purchasing.
• Lead and animate the purchasing teams in the region while managing national delegated purchases.
• Act as the primary contact for the commercial and logistics departments.
• Define and size your teams based on objectives.
• Directly manage 6 buyers and suppliers, set their objectives, and evaluate their performance.
• Ensure the development of your team's skills through results analysis and propose individual training plans.
• Prepare product campaigns in collaboration with buyers and communicate results to product managers.
• Negotiate, reference, and formalize contracts with regional suppliers and select appropriate national suppliers.
• Oversee branch supplies in compliance with national contracts.
• Ensure the optimization of upstream transport flows.
• Control the management of cost prices.

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in purchasing or commerce.
• Educational background of Bac+4/5 specialized in purchasing or commerce.
• Expertise in fresh products (fruits, vegetables, or seafood).
• Experience in commerce is a plus.
• Proven managerial experience.
• Strong negotiation and purchasing techniques.
• Proficiency in Excel and SAP is highly desirable.

Nice to Have

• Experience in a leadership role within a purchasing department.
• Knowledge of the food distribution industry.
• Familiarity with sustainability practices in procurement.
