Senior .NET Developer - Technical Lead for Government Budgeting
About the Role
We are excited to announce an opening for a Senior .NET Developer and Technical Lead to join our team. This Senior .NET Developer remote position will be pivotal in enhancing a mission-critical statewide budgeting system. You will lead the design, development, and optimization of enterprise .NET applications while mentoring internal teams to ensure system stability and performance.
What You'll Do
- Lead the development, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise-scale .NET applications supporting the Budget System.
- Design, develop, and maintain data extraction and transformation packages to deliver structured, reliable data layouts.
- Enhance and support complex applications within the Applications Development portfolio, including the Statewide Budget Solution.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to state employees, guiding .NET best practices, coding standards, and architectural decisions.
- Oversee SQL Server installation, maintenance, performance tuning, and optimization.
- Design and implement MSDTC configurations, Transparent Data Encryption (TDE), and SQL security best practices.
Requirements
- 9+ years of overall experience in senior-level .NET development and technical leadership.
- Extensive hands-on experience designing and implementing financial and budget applications using .NET technologies.
- Strong expertise in ASP.NET, C#, VB.NET, and the .NET Framework.
- Proven experience with Microsoft SQL Server installation, maintenance, performance tuning, and optimization.
- Advanced experience with SSIS / Integration Services.
- Hands-on experience designing and testing disaster recovery solutions.
- Expertise in TDE encryption, MSDTC configuration, and SQL security best practices.
- Strong experience developing Windows Services and Web Services.
Nice to Have
- Working knowledge of state and federal laws, procurement, budgeting, HR, and payroll processes.
- Experience supporting government or public-sector budgeting systems.
- Prior experience in a technical lead or architect role within large, enterprise environments.
