About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Engineering Specialist - Communication Software Implementation to join our team at The Aerospace Corporation. This role is pivotal in developing innovative communication solutions for our nation's space programs. As a Senior Engineering Specialist, you will work on-site at either El Segundo, CA or Colorado Springs, CO, contributing to groundbreaking projects that enhance national security and productivity.

What You'll Do

  • Build prototypes for classic signal processing and AI/ML signal processing.
  • Deliver tech demos and briefings to internal stakeholders and external customers.
  • Provide technical guidance and insight to external customers.
  • Develop the department's business network with the customer program office.
  • Lead projects from initial concept to execution, demonstrating technical leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of eight years of related experience in modern communication system engineering, digital signal processing, or AI/ML communication expertise.
  • Strong coding experience in C++, Python, or Matlab.
  • Experience developing within a Linux environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance issued by the U.S. Government.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with software defined radio development (GNU Radio) or similar SDR platforms.
  • Familiarity with best practices for DevOps and MLOps.
  • Possession of an active TS/SCI security clearance.
