Senior Database Engineer - Remote

About the Role

We're hiring a Senior Database Engineer to join our innovative team at Visa. As a Senior Database Engineer, you will manage, maintain, and optimize database systems hosted on cloud platforms, ensuring performance, reliability, and security. What You'll Do

• Manage database systems on AWS, Azure, or GCP Cloud.
• Administer Aurora MySQL, Aurora PostgreSQL, and DynamoDB.
• Collaborate with DevOps to implement infrastructure as code using Terraform.
• Participate in a 24x7 support rotation.
• Monitor database health and troubleshoot issues.
• Assist in capacity planning and disaster recovery.
• Utilize shell scripting and Cockroach DB.
• Work effectively in a remote environment.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator or similar role.
• Expertise in Aurora MySQL, Aurora PostgreSQL, and DynamoDB.
• Solid understanding of AWS Cloud features.
• Good knowledge of Terraform.
• Familiarity with DevOps principles.
• Strong sense of trustworthiness and discipline.

Nice to Have

• Experience with shell scripting.
• Knowledge of Cockroach DB.
• Experience with YAML coding.
