Senior Data Scientist - Remote Position at Geotab

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards to drive key business decisions.
• Provide expert project leadership as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and participate in cross-departmental projects.
• Implement new statistical or mathematical methodologies for specific models of data analysis.
• Create algorithms and predictive models to extract information required to solve complex business problems.
• Conduct causality experiments using A/B testing or epidemiological approaches to identify root issues of observed results.
• Identify new, complex queries from Big Data infrastructure to add value to the organization.
• Utilize machine learning packages such as Scikit-learn and TensorFlow to develop ML models and features.
• Collaborate with internal technical teams and external stakeholders to gather requirements and build production datasets.

Requirements

• Post-secondary Diploma/Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• 5-8 years of experience as a Data Scientist, with proficiency in SQL and programming in Python.
• Solid understanding of machine learning and operations research.
• Knowledge of data management and visualization techniques.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to problem-solve effectively.
• Excellent project management skills and the ability to manage projects through to completion.
• Technical competence using software programs, including Google Suite for business.
• Ability to engage with all levels of the organization and work collaboratively.

Nice to Have

• Graduate or post-graduate Degree in Data Science or a related field.
• Experience with data warehousing databases such as Google BigQuery.
• Familiarity with statistical analysis and predictive modeling techniques.
