Senior Data Scientist/​Engineer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist/Engineer to join our innovative team at Black Duck Software. This remote Data Scientist/Engineer position allows you to work from anywhere while contributing to our mission of enhancing application security. You will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining analytical data pipelines, leveraging machine learning, and driving data-driven decision-making processes.

What You'll Do

• Develop and maintain analytical data pipelines from various internal and external sources.
• Participate in system design discussions and contribute to architectural decisions.
• Evaluate new analytical and technological opportunities to leverage data for security and business impact.
• Lead projects from research through to production deployment and operational handover to appropriate teams.
• Partner with R&D and Engineering teams to develop and share best practices for data tooling, including pipelines and dashboards.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Data Science, AI/Data Engineering, or related fields.
• BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Math, Physics, Engineering, or related fields.
• Expert-level experience in Python; familiarity with Julia or R is a plus.
• Experience with Jupyter Notebook or equivalents.
• Hands-on experience with Airflow, DBT, Databricks, or equivalent stacks.
• Familiarity with Cybersecurity Governance and Application Security Testing.
• Experience with RDBMS (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Data Mesh/Data Product concepts.
• Experience in operating in Linux Command line environments.
• Experience in training custom Machine Learning models.
• Experience in integrating AI capabilities into software systems.
• Experience in Enterprise Data Visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Grafana.
