About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our team at TRM Labs, a blockchain intelligence company dedicated to building a safer world. This Senior Data Scientist remote position plays a crucial role in transforming our intelligence into actionable insights that can protect billions of people from threats such as human trafficking and financial fraud.

What You'll Do

• Design and apply innovative techniques to uncover hidden relationships across blockchain entities and transactions.
• Collaborate with engineers and data scientists to validate heuristics and enhance attribution models.
• Build pipelines and frameworks that generate high-quality intelligence for internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Reduce time-to-insight dramatically, enabling TRM and its partners to respond to emerging risks swiftly.
• Provide insights that empower governments and financial organizations to combat fraud and financial crime.
• Mentor and inspire peers, fostering a culture of intellectual curiosity and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Economics, or Physics.
• 6+ years of experience in an analytical role, preferably in data science.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language, with Python being preferred.
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL) and statistical analysis.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify patterns in complex data sets.
• High tolerance for ambiguity and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Nice to Have

• Experience in blockchain technology or cryptocurrency.
• Familiarity with machine learning techniques.
• Previous experience working with law enforcement or financial institutions.
