About the Role
We're hiring a Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic team at Peerspace. This Senior Data Engineer remote position is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of our data infrastructure and analytics capabilities.
What You'll Do
- Modernize & Decompose: Lead the effort to break down large, monolithic data initiatives into manageable, modern services and pipelines that allow us to ship fast and scale efficiently.
- Architecture & Design: Drive the strategy for new data storage patterns and the services required to serve data back to the core product as well as for internal analytics consumption.
- Engineering Excellence: Apply software engineering best practices—such as CI/CD, unit testing, and version control—to our data ecosystem.
- End-to-End Data Ownership: Act with a strong ownership mindset, digging into the "why" and "how" to find answers in a startup-style environment.
- Collaborate & Mentor: Work closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Finance teams, serving as a partner and mentor to build production-grade systems.
Requirements
- Proficient in Python and SQL with a strong foundation in data engineering principles.
- Experience in software design patterns and data orchestration best practices.
- Ability to balance short-term business needs with long-term technical health.
- Experience breaking down high-level business requirements into technical roadmaps.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Nice to Have
- Experience with deploying ML pipelines and working with LLM tooling.
- Familiarity with dbt and real-time data processing.
