Senior Business Analyst - Complex Systems (Hybrid)
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst for Complex Systems to join our team in a hybrid capacity, working two days in the office each week. This role is crucial for providing ongoing maintenance and support for various applications, including migration and infectious diseases applications. As a Senior Business Analyst, you will enhance and streamline critical business processes while ensuring data integrity and compliance.
What You'll Do
- Write high-level functional requirement documents to guide project development.
- Conduct business requirements analysis, perform gap analysis, and develop detailed functional requirements.
- Execute the full software development life cycle (SDLC), gathering requirements and writing functional/technical specifications for complex projects.
- Develop functional design documents and collaborate with stakeholders for review and approval.
- Create user stories and task breakdowns for agile development projects.
- Utilize flowcharts and screen layouts to ensure a logical flow of system requirements.
- Develop test reports with metrics and coordinate with business users for feedback.
- Assist with Enterprise Architecture Solution Assessment (EASA) and document IT solutions that align with State of Michigan standards.
- Draft Local Change Board documents and develop training content and user manuals.
- Design, develop, and implement test plans for applications or subsystems.
- Execute approved tests to validate program logic and ensure desired results.
- Assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT), creating test cases and conducting post-implementation testing.
- Provide defect tracking log entry information and assist with the implementation of RFCs.
- Maintain and update system documentation following system upgrades.
- Monitor applications during peak production times and assist users with issues via calls and discussions.
Requirements
- 8+ years of business analysis experience for complex computer systems.
- 8+ years of experience developing functional requirements for development projects.
- 8+ years of experience developing and implementing test plans and test cases.
- 5+ years of experience implementing Agile development processes, including test-driven development.
- 8+ years of experience creating, updating, and maintaining systems documentation.
- 8+ years of experience creating training plans and materials.
- Experience with Azure DevOps or similar requirement and test case tracking applications.
- Experience working with HIPAA Data.
- Experience developing prototypes and mockups for user review and approval.
- Experience working on large agile projects.
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
Nice to Have
- Experience with data migration projects.
- Knowledge of infectious disease applications.
- Familiarity with State of Michigan IT standards.
