Senior Bookkeeper - Remote Position
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Bookkeeper - Remote to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will manage financial records, prepare reports, and ensure compliance with Canadian accounting standards. What You'll Do
- Oversee daily bookkeeping tasks and maintain accurate financial records.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for management review.
- Ensure compliance with Canadian accounting standards and regulations.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including payroll processing.
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns and GST/HST filings.
- Collaborate with the finance team to streamline processes and improve financial management.
- Provide support for audits and financial reviews as needed.
- Utilize QuickBooks Online and Xero for efficient bookkeeping and reporting.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar financial role.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting standards and US GAAP.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero, and other accounting software.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience in nonprofit organizations is a plus.
Nice to Have
- Certification in bookkeeping or accounting.
- Experience with multi-entity finance.
- Familiarity with payroll processing and BAS.
