About the Role

We're hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to join our innovative Voice AI startup. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in architecting the backbone of a platform that handles millions of AI-driven calls. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a fast-growing Y Combinator-backed company that has already achieved remarkable success with $5M in seed funding and is on track for $30M ARR.

What You'll Do

  • Build foundational architecture including prompt orchestration, testing frameworks, observability dashboards, and telephony integrations.
  • Design scalable backend systems and DevOps workflows to ensure reliable performance across millions of calls.
  • Lead complex projects from architecture to production, owning delivery and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with product and design teams to create intuitive APIs for rapid customer onboarding.
  • Support customer onboarding, troubleshoot issues, and translate feedback into product improvements.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of backend development experience.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • An ownership mindset with a passion for impactful software.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Clear communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
  • Bonus: Startup experience and knowledge of cloud infrastructure/DevOps.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with voice automation technologies.
  • Familiarity with telephony systems.
  • Knowledge of real-time audio processing.
