About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer (Node.js) remote to join our expanding team at Native Commerce, a cutting-edge e-commerce infrastructure company. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing robust backend systems that support our innovative e-commerce solutions.

What You'll Do

• Architect and develop scalable backend systems using Node.js, ensuring high performance and responsiveness.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features that enhance our e-commerce platform.
• Utilize AI tools such as Copilot, Claude-Code, and Cursor to streamline development processes and improve code quality.
• Implement automated testing and continuous integration practices to maintain code integrity and performance.
• Analyze system requirements and translate them into technical specifications, focusing on system-wide architecture rather than just individual components.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in backend development, specifically with Node.js.
• Strong understanding of e-commerce platforms, high-load systems, and transactional services.
• Proven ability to work independently and take initiative in a remote work environment.
• Experience with AI tools and methodologies in software development.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a mature engineering approach.

Nice to Have

• Experience in marketplace systems.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture.
• Knowledge of cloud services and deployment strategies.
