Senior ASIC Design Engineer - Remote Opportunity at SpaceX

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior ASIC Design Engineer to join our innovative team at SpaceX. This remote position allows you to contribute to groundbreaking technologies that will enable human life on Mars. As a Senior ASIC Design Engineer, you will leverage your expertise in designing cutting-edge ASICs for deployment in space and ground infrastructures around the globe. Your work will directly impact the performance and capabilities of the Starlink network, the world's largest satellite constellation providing reliable internet to millions.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate architectural trade-offs based on features, performance requirements, and system limitations.
• Define micro-architecture and implement RTL in Verilog/System Verilog, integrating it into the top level for a fully verified, synthesis/timing clean design.
• Collaborate closely with the verification team to ensure all design aspects are covered and verified.
• Provide timing constraints for IPs and support the physical implementation team in synthesis, timing closure, and formality checks.
• Participate in silicon bring-up and validation, ensuring the highest quality of design.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
• 5+ years of experience in RTL implementation.
• Ability to solve complex problems, including clock domain crossings and power optimization.
• Experience with ASIC/SoC system integration and embedded CPU subsystems.
• Familiarity with standard bus protocols (e.g., AXI, AHB).
• Proficiency in high-speed and low-power design techniques.
• Scripting skills (e.g., Python).
• Experience with EDA tools such as HDL simulators and HDL Lint tools.
