Senior AI Engineer - Remote Position in Digital Pathology
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior AI Engineer to join our innovative team at Qritive, a leading MedTech company specializing in advanced artificial intelligence (AI) for digital pathology. As a Senior AI Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing clinically validated AI solutions that enhance diagnostic efficiency and patient care. This remote position offers the opportunity to bridge cutting-edge research with real-world clinical deployment, translating innovative algorithms into production-ready systems.
What You'll Do
- Build next-generation pathology AI models, focusing on deep learning solutions for whole-slide image (WSI) analysis, including object detection and image segmentation.
- Lead initiatives to enhance model accuracy and robustness, developing visual overlays and explainability tools to support clinical decision-making.
- Manage the full AI lifecycle from R&D to product deployment, executing experiments that translate research outcomes into production assets.
- Collaborate with software engineering teams to define scalable deployment architectures and optimize system performance.
- Work closely with pathologists to define clinical assessment strategies and contribute to validation planning consistent with clinical lab expectations.
- Promote industry best practices by leading code reviews and mentoring AI team members to ensure high standards of software quality.
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in developing deep learning-based computer vision systems, with ownership of at least one production-grade deployment.
- Excellent proficiency in Python and PyTorch, with strong foundations in modern computer vision and machine learning methodologies.
- Proficiency in Linux-based and containerized development, with familiarity in model serving and monitoring in production.
- Hands-on experience with cloud service providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure) for AI model deployments.
- Proven ability to design rigorous evaluation frameworks that reflect real-world clinical use cases.
Nice to Have
- Master's or PhD in computer science, engineering, or related discipline.
- Prior experience in medical imaging or digital pathology, especially with whole-slide images.
- Familiarity with computational pathology software such as QuPath or CellProfiler.
- Experience with MLOps practices, including model drift monitoring and performance regression analysis.
