Security Automation Engineer - Remote

About the Role

We are seeking a Security Automation Engineer to join our team at Tessitura, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting arts and cultural institutions. This remote position allows you to work from home while contributing to the security of our cloud services and software development lifecycle.

What You'll Do

• Implement and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines using tools like Bitbucket Pipelines and AWS CodePipeline.
• Develop secure "paved roads" including preconfigured Terraform modules and pipeline templates.
• Create and maintain guardrails to enable developers to adhere to security standards.
• Build and maintain security scanning automation as part of CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with the Infrastructure Engineering team to enhance security practices.
• Track security tasks and vulnerabilities using Jira to ensure proper prioritization.
• Continuously stay updated on security automation best practices and emerging threats.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, cyber security, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 1-3 years of experience in a DevOps, software engineering, or cyber security role.
• Experience securing CI/CD pipelines and working with infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Understanding of AWS security services.
• Familiarity with application security testing approaches.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with developers.
• The legal right to work in the United States.

Nice to Have

• Proficiency in Python for automation scripts.
• Experience with Atlassian tools like Bitbucket and Jira.
• Industry certifications such as AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner.

• Competitive salary range of $70,000 - $85,000.
