Security Architect - Financial Services (Remote)
About the Role
We are looking for a talented Security Architect to join our team on a fully remote basis. This Security Architect remote position is focused on the financial services sector, where you will play a critical role in shaping and governing cybersecurity solutions. With a contract duration of six months, this role offers the potential for extension, allowing you to make a significant impact in a highly regulated environment.
What You'll Do
- Own the end-to-end security architecture for large-scale cybersecurity initiatives within financial services.
- Produce high-quality architectural artifacts from conceptual and logical designs through to detailed solution architecture.
- Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture standards, security strategy, regulatory obligations, and business objectives.
- Provide architectural leadership to delivery teams, resolving technical dependencies, risks, and design challenges.
- Work closely with product teams, security, risk, and engineering to ensure secure, resilient, and cost-effective solutions.
- Perform architecture assurance and governance, reviewing designs and deliverables from internal teams and third-party suppliers.
- Contribute to Information Security, Digital, and Data strategies, ensuring designs support future-state capabilities.
- Identify opportunities for security-led innovation, balancing new technologies with enterprise standards and roadmaps.
- Stay current with cybersecurity trends and threats, translating insights into pragmatic, deliverable architecture.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Security Architect delivering complex cyber solutions in financial services.
- Strong delivery background across domains such as IAM, Threat Detection & Response, Attack Surface Management, Infrastructure Security, and Data Protection.
- Hands-on experience designing security solutions in AWS environments.
- End-to-end delivery experience across multi-technology programs and projects.
- Strong understanding of financial services risk, regulatory and control frameworks.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.
- Solid architectural foundation using TOGAF, UML, and agile delivery methodologies.
- Commercial awareness, including solution costing, vendor engagement, and procurement frameworks.
- Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent.
- Evidence of continuous professional development and engagement with cybersecurity best practices.
Nice to Have
- Experience with DevSecOps practices.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as GDPR and PCI-DSS.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies and their implications for cybersecurity.
