About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Safety Specialist remote to join our team at Parts Town. As a Safety Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our team members while supporting our newly created distribution center team. Your primary focus will be on implementing and maintaining comprehensive safety programs, policies, and procedures.

What You'll Do

  • Maintain occupational health and safety record-keeping systems, including safety metrics and KPIs.
  • Document incidents and actively participate in root cause analysis discussions, assisting in developing solutions to reduce the risk of recurrence.
  • Analyze incident reports to identify trends and recommend corrective actions for unsafe conditions and behaviors.
  • Facilitate safety training programs (e.g., Emergency Evacuation, Bloodborne Pathogen, LOTO, HAZCOMM).
  • Assist in preparing for and responding to emergency situations, including drills and incidents involving fire, severe weather, and hazardous materials.
  • Drive team member engagement in safety initiatives, emergency response, and first aid efforts; prepare meeting agendas, recap discussions, and communicate minutes to stakeholders.
  • Ensure all employees understand and comply with safety requirements, providing coaching and reinforcement of safety rules.
  • Conduct walk-through safety inspections and collaborate with leadership to identify and implement operational improvements related to safety.

Requirements

  • A degree in Environmental Health and Safety and/or 1 or more years of safety role experience in a fulfillment center or manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to build relationships with team members and promote a strong safety culture through visibility and engagement.
  • Organized and thrive in a fast-paced atmosphere, prioritizing work and time across projects seamlessly.
  • Experience with technology such as safety apps and monitoring security camera systems.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal).
  • Physical ability to move around for long periods and lift up to 40 pounds unassisted.

  • Certification in safety management or related fields.
