RIBA Part 2 Architectural Assistant - Remote Opportunity
About the Role
We are seeking a talented and motivated RIBA Part 2 Architectural Assistant to join our multi-disciplinary urban design team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate looking to advance their career in architecture while working remotely. As a RIBA Part 2 Architectural Assistant, you will gain valuable experience across all RIBA stages while working towards your professional qualification. Our practice specializes in traditional and heritage-led design, often working on sensitive and technically complex sites where a high level of planning and technical expertise is required.
What You'll Do
- Assist in the development of masterplans, urban design frameworks, and residential layouts.
- Prepare and amend technical drawings and production information using CAD and other design software.
- Support the progression of design proposals from concept through to detailed design.
- Conduct measured surveys, site appraisals, and contextual analysis.
- Integrate technical, statutory, and planning requirements into design proposals.
- Prepare drawing packages and supporting documentation for planning submissions, building control, tender, and construction stages.
- Attend site and consultant meetings and contribute appropriately.
- Maintain awareness of health & safety considerations throughout all project stages.
Requirements
- Strong drawing, design, and presentation skills.
- Creative and thoughtful approach with an excellent eye for detail.
- Good working knowledge of building technology, construction methods, and environmental design principles.
- Awareness of UK planning policy, technical standards, regulatory frameworks, and health & safety requirements.
- Well organized with strong time management skills and the ability to manage a varied workload.
- Confident communicator with good interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel within the UK as required.
Nice to Have
- Interest in residential architecture within your portfolio.
- Experience with CAD software.
- Participation in CPD activities.
