About the Role

SpaceX is seeking a Remote Supplier Quality Specialist to join our innovative team. As a Remote Supplier Quality Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our supply chain, particularly for the Starlink project. This position is essential for maintaining high standards and ensuring that our suppliers meet the rigorous demands of our rapidly evolving designs.

What You'll Do

  • Improve the issue ticket landscape related to our specific products.
  • Analyze and dissect the issue ticket landscape to identify actions that enhance vendor performance.
  • Own and manage non-conformances found at vendors, including Supplier Deviation Requests and Incoming Quality Control (IQC).
  • Collaborate with vendors to implement new processes aimed at reducing issues and minimizing supply chain risk.
  • Enhance existing quality management processes while working closely with vendors to improve their performance.
  • Manage containment, receiving, and precision inspection non-conformances, ensuring effective resolution paths are established.
  • Provide technical support onsite at suppliers as needed to ensure part reliability.
  • Work in close collaboration with engineering, procurement, and production teams to assure high-quality parts and services that meet all requirements.
  • Analyze quality metrics to identify trends and systemic root causes, partnering with Supply Chain Reliability Engineers to eliminate recurring non-conformances.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in quality assurance or supplier quality management.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing and quality tools.
  • Experience with supply chain risk management and quality surveillance.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with vendors.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess quality metrics and identify trends.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in quality management systems and tools.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in the aerospace or high-tech industry.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards and quality certifications.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification.
