About the Role

We are looking for a Remote Senior Software Engineer to join our team at Alpaca. As a key technical contributor, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining robust software systems that power our financial infrastructure. This position offers the opportunity to work remotely while being part of a dynamic team that spans the globe.

What You'll Do

• Design and develop scalable software systems that meet the needs of our financial services infrastructure.
• Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration within the team.
• Optimize software performance and architecture to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Coordinate with the DevOps team to manage infrastructure provisioning and vendor relationships.
• Participate in technical reviews and contribute to the overall direction of projects.
• Occasionally visit our data centers in GIFT City for on-site technical reviews.
• Contribute to open-source projects and enhance our developer-friendly API.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to align software requirements with infrastructure capabilities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on financial systems.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
• Experience with API development and integration in a financial context.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and cloud infrastructure management.
• Ability to mentor and guide junior team members effectively.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for technology.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a distributed team.
