Remote Sales Development Manager - Transform Education
About the Role
We are seeking a Remote Sales Development Manager to join our team at Newsela. In this role, you will help lead the growth engine of our sales team by coaching and developing a team of Sales Development Representatives (SDRs). As a Remote Sales Development Manager, you will report to the Director of Transactional Sales and play a key role in designing and implementing lead generation strategies that drive success in strategic conversations with District and School Administrators. Your ability to continuously improve team performance and exceed territory goals will be integral to Newsela’s mission of bringing meaningful classroom learning to every student.
What You'll Do
- Lead a team of onshore and offshore SDRs, developing a front-line team that initiates partnerships with K-12 schools and districts.
- Coach, train, and manage a team of SDRs to achieve quarterly and annual metrics.
- Collaborate across the Customer organization to design strategy and processes that enhance overall sales performance.
- Develop and implement lead generation strategies that resonate with District and School Administrators.
- Continuously monitor and improve territory performance, identifying opportunities for growth and optimization.
- Leverage sales tools and platforms, such as Salesforce and Salesloft, to manage team performance and workflows effectively.
Requirements
- 4+ years of sales experience or 1+ years of SDR management with a proven track record of coaching others.
- Prior people management experience is highly desired.
- Strong ability to develop and execute lead generation strategies across your team.
- Proficient in Salesforce and other sales tools, enabling effective management of a remote team.
- Experience coaching using platforms such as Gong, Salesloft, and Slack.
- Passionate about education and aligned with Newsela’s mission of transforming learning experiences for students and teachers alike.

- Experience experimenting with and leveraging AI to drive greater efficiency in both outbound and inbound lead generation motions.
