About the Role

We are seeking a Remote DevOps Software Engineer to join Redwood Materials, a company dedicated to localizing a global battery supply chain. This role is crucial as we integrate recovery, reuse, and recycling processes to keep critical minerals in circulation and drive the energy transition. As a Remote DevOps Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering low-cost, large-scale energy storage solutions and producing battery materials in the U.S. for the first time, all sourced from batteries we already have.

What You'll Do

  • Architect, build, and deploy infrastructure and applications in a hybrid AWS and Kubernetes environment.
  • Support applications that range from web integrations with auto manufacturers to predictive machine controllers and new battery-based energy products.
  • Create and manage AWS infrastructure and Kubernetes (self-hosted and AWS EKS based) using infrastructure-as-code tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of software applications.
  • Contribute to the development of green field software experiences and capabilities that significantly impact the company’s operations and scalability.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience as a DevOps Software Engineer in a relevant field.
  • Proficiency in AWS services and Kubernetes management.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a remote environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in the energy sector or with battery technologies.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or Go.
  • Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus or Grafana.
