Remote College Admissions Counselor - Empower Students

About the Role

We are seeking a Remote College Admissions Counselor to join our team at Empowerly. In this role, you will guide high school students through the college admissions process, helping them achieve their academic goals. As a Remote College Admissions Counselor, you will work with students from diverse backgrounds, particularly those aiming for top 50 colleges and universities, including Ivy League schools.

What You'll Do

• Advise and support up to 25 students, providing personalized college application strategies.
• Create academic and extracurricular roadmaps tailored to each student's aspirations.
• Assist students with their college applications, including personal statements, resumes, and recommendation letters.
• Help students prepare for standardized tests and develop strategies to improve their scores.
• Guide students through the entire application process, ensuring all materials are polished and ready for submission.
• Discuss financial aid resources and merit scholarship opportunities with students and their families.
• Maintain regular communication with students and their parents, fostering a supportive environment.
• Attend monthly team meetings to collaborate with colleagues and share best practices.

Requirements

• Fluency in Mandarin, with strong oral and written communication skills.
• Graduation from a top 50 national university; advanced degrees are a plus.
• Experience as a college counselor, with a proven track record of student acceptances into top universities.
• Availability in the afternoons and weekends to meet with students.
• Passion for education and a talent for teaching and essay writing.
• Ability to meet deadlines and provide exceptional client service.

• Membership in professional organizations such as NACAC or IECA.
