About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate Registered Substance Use Counselor to join our team remotely. As a Registered Substance Use Counselor, you will play a critical role in assisting patients through medically assisted treatments and providing essential techniques for managing opioid use. This position allows you to make a significant impact on the lives of individuals struggling with substance use disorders.

What You'll Do

• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to support patients in crisis management and coping strategies.
• Evaluate patient progress during counseling and collaborate with medical professionals to enhance patient outcomes.
• Complete comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessments to inform treatment planning.
• Develop aftercare and discharge plans that promote sustained recovery.
• Ensure the effective delivery of counseling services and maintain accurate documentation.
• Engage in ongoing training and professional development to enhance counseling skills.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive work environment.

Requirements

• Must be a Registered Counselor in the State of California.
• Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals is preferred.
• Demonstrated positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude towards patients.
• Ability to pass a satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Experience in outpatient treatment settings.
• Knowledge of evidence-based practices in substance use treatment.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems.
