Production Operative - Aerospace Manufacturing

About the Role

We are currently looking for a Production Operative to join us here at thyssenkrupp Materials UK! This Production Operative remote position offers a unique opportunity to work in the aerospace sector, where precision and safety are paramount. You will operate our Plate Saws (once trained) to ensure all products are handled, cut, and identified in accordance with thyssenkrupp Working Practices and Procedures. Your role is crucial to ensuring adherence to customer requirements in a safe manner while conforming to all relevant Health and Safety regulations. Don't worry, we will provide full training!

What You'll Do

• Operate Plate Saws to cut materials according to customer specifications.
• Accurately set the machine and cut materials, maximizing stock utilization and minimizing scrap or damage.
• Maintain and accurately record all details on the computer-based stock control system and supporting documentation.
• Ensure all products are handled appropriately to eliminate damage or health hazards.
• Mark and ensure traceability of all stock and products.
• Conform to all identified order requirements as presented.

Requirements

• Experience within a warehouse environment and/or operating machinery.
• Ability to read and understand cutting patterns to maximize stock utilization.
• Programming knowledge for machine setup and preparation.
• Self-motivated, diligent, analytical, and numerate.
• PC literate.

Nice to Have

• Understanding of Health and Safety at Work legislation.
• Experience with SAP.
• Current valid counterbalance FLT license.
• Machine maintenance skills applicable to the equipment operated.
• Understanding of continuous improvement philosophies.
