Planner - Remote Opportunity in Defence Industry

About the Role

Join Civmec as a Planner in this exciting remote opportunity within the Defence Manufacturing sector. As a Planner, you will contribute to the prestigious Royal Australian Navy Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) program, playing a key role in driving project planning outcomes and supporting the successful delivery of nationally significant defence projects.

What You'll Do

• Develop the ship schedule in Primavera P6 using prior ships’ schedules and WBS, incorporating lessons learned.
• Utilize the 3D model, drawings, and ships in construction to thoroughly understand the scope of work.
• Organize and lead planning workshops with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
• Work with work preparation engineers, production superintendents, project management, and client representatives to maintain the project schedule.
• Maintain integration from the Work Orders database to the schedule for activity budget assignment and progress collection.
• Produce schedules including visual aids to communicate agreed schedules effectively.
• Identify issues and opportunities to the project team, facilitating proactive solutions.
• Provide accurate weekly and monthly reports as required, ensuring transparency and accountability.

Requirements

• Experience in preparing and monitoring comprehensive project schedules is essential.
• Tertiary qualifications in structural, mechanical, or construction management disciplines are preferred but not essential.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Excel is essential.
• Applicants must be Australian Citizens and eligible to obtain a Baseline Security Clearance through the Australian Department of Defence.
