Payroll Specialist - 6 Month Remote Contract

About the Role

We are seeking a Payroll Specialist remote for a 6-month contract with The Mason Group, exclusively for candidates residing in British Columbia. What You'll Do

• Assist the Payroll Manager in managing a complex hourly paid payroll.
• Engage in the implementation of new payroll systems, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
• Address employee inquiries regarding payroll and related processes.
• Participate in year-end reconciliations and other accounting tasks.
• Utilize your advanced Excel skills to analyze payroll data and improve processes.

Requirements

• Canadian PCP designation is a strong differentiator.
• 5+ years of progressive payroll administration experience for hourly employees.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote environment with a focus on continuous learning.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and a strong analytical mindset.
• Familiarity with various payroll systems and the Canada Labour Code.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and known for accuracy.
• Strong understanding of the accounting cycle and payroll accounting.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team.
