Part-Time Driver for Mobile Health Unit - Remote Opportunity
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Part-Time Driver for Mobile Health Unit to join our team at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. In this remote opportunity, you will play a crucial role in transporting supplies and materials to various health care sites, ensuring that patients receive the care they need in a timely and courteous manner.
What You'll Do
- Transport supplies and materials to and from various care delivery sites.
- Assist staff with loading and unloading supplies and materials from the vehicle.
- Perform daily operational checks of the vehicle and report any issues to management.
- Maintain a good driving record and ensure the vehicle is always fueled and charged.
- Schedule routine maintenance for the Moms and Kids Mobile Health Unit.
- Support sanitation procedures and infection control practices as needed.
- Act as a liaison between the Mobile Health Unit and UAB fleet operations for scheduling maintenance and repairs.
- Greet and register patients, assisting with patient sign-in and documentation.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED is required.
- Currently licensed with a Driver's License from the State of Alabama.
- CDL is preferred.
- Experience in a driving role or similar position is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a caring attitude towards patients and staff.
- Ability to handle patient-related issues with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Knowledge of UAB Hospital/Health System policies and procedures is a plus.
Nice to Have
- Experience in healthcare transportation.
- Familiarity with electronic health systems (EHR).
- Previous experience in a customer service role.
