Network Technician I - Remote Position

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Network Technician I to join our team at SAIC. This Network Technician I remote position allows you to work from anywhere within the United States, providing you with the flexibility to balance your professional and personal life. As a part of our Network Operations Center (NOC), you will support multiple client networks, ensuring their optimal performance and reliability.

What You'll Do

  • Inspect LAN/WAN infrastructure to identify and resolve minor or major issues.
  • Perform troubleshooting to system failures and identify bottlenecks to ensure long-term efficiency of the network.
  • Evaluate network performance and implement improvements.
  • Test, configure, and maintain network hardware and peripheral devices.
  • Assist end-users in identifying and resolving network-related issues.
  • Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without disrupting others' work.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Computer Networking/Engineering or related field, or 1-3 years of IT experience in a Service Desk or Direct Support position.
  • Outstanding diagnostic, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Good knowledge of LAN/WAN networks, TCP/IP protocols, and network technologies.
  • Familiarity with the OSI and TCP/IP models.
  • Understanding of concepts and best practices of Network Security.
  • Knowledge in SSH and accessing network hardware via CLI.
  • Hands-on experience with common software and hardware.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to Have

  • CompTia Security+ CE certification.
  • CompTia Network+ CE certification.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate certification.

Who Will Succeed Here
