About the Role

We are seeking a Network Engineer to join our team at Consumers Energy. What You'll Do

  • Support the configuration and maintenance of routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems.

  • Follow change control and incident response procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 2+ years of hands-on experience in IT or Network Administration, or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with common network tools such as Wireshark and SolarWinds.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, etc.).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to learn and grow within the field.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with network security concepts.
  • Knowledge of VPN technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with wireless technologies.
