Mid-Senior System Engineer - Smart Factory Team

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Mid-Senior System Engineer to join our Smart Factory team at Pragmatic Semiconductor. This System Engineer remote position is pivotal in supporting our manufacturing databases, ensuring performance, reliability, and security. You will play a key role in our operations, reporting directly to the Data Systems Manager.

What You'll Do

  • Provide first-line DBA support, resolving escalated database incidents and requests.
  • Manage backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes, including authoring and practicing DR plans.
  • Execute database upgrades and change management, coordinating upgrades with rollback plans.
  • Maintain and monitor database solutions, owning dashboards, SLOs, logging, and actionable alerts.
  • Administer high availability database setups both on-premises and in the cloud.
  • Ensure security and compliance by managing IAM/ACLs, encryption, and audit logging.
  • Participate in Agile teams, creating and refining user stories while using Jira for project management.
  • Lead incident response and troubleshooting, focusing on performance and continuous improvements.

Requirements

  • Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Significant experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle databases.
  • Strong knowledge of operational practices such as HA/replication, backups, and change management.
  • Experience with advanced reporting tools like Power BI or Tableau.
  • Excellent communication skills, with strong documentation and stakeholder collaboration abilities.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with ETL data pipelines and intermediate knowledge of Python.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
  • Background in semiconductor manufacturing and knowledge of industry standards.
