Mid-Senior System Administrator - Ground-Based Electro-Optical Surveillance

About the Role

BAE Systems is seeking a full-time System Administrator to join our team supporting the Ground-Based Electro-Optical Deep Space Surveillance (GEODSS) System on Haleakalā Summit in Maui, Hawaii. This System Administrator remote position plays a critical role in ensuring the operational integrity of the GEODSS system, which is vital for the 15th Space Surveillance Squadron's mission to detect, track, and identify all tasked space objects within its area of coverage.

What You'll Do

• Perform site system administration and Level 1 software support for mission systems, ensuring optimal data processing and monitoring of signals.
• Monitor and maintain cyber compliance in accordance with regulations and contract requirements.
• Assist site operations and maintenance personnel in troubleshooting faults to ensure systems meet mission requirements.
• Complete necessary software preventive and corrective maintenance actions to ensure proper system operations.
• Collaborate with a team of two other system administrators to fulfill all primary and additional duties effectively.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Must have or obtain current LINUX certification.
• Current Security+ certification or other DoD 8570/8140 approved baseline certification, or willingness to obtain CompTIA Security+ prior to start date.
• Flexibility to work shift work (days/swings/mids).
• Able to work comfortably at an elevation of 10,000 feet, with the work site located at the Maui Space Surveillance Complex.

Nice to Have

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of LINUX CLI experience.
• Experience with UNIX/Red Hat and familiarity with VMware, Juniper, Cisco, and Windows operating systems.
