About the Role
We are seeking a talented Mid-Senior Integration Engineer to join our team at Pacific Life. This role is crucial for building and maintaining modern integrations and APIs that connect various systems across our Workforce Benefits Division. As an Integration Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping our integration standards and driving innovation in our digital ecosystem.
What You'll Do
- Design, build, and maintain modern integrations and APIs that connect Salesforce, Snowflake, MDM, and internal systems.
- Develop reusable patterns and frameworks for APIs, transformations, event flows, and security.
- Engineer integrations across multiple styles: real-time APIs, batch interfaces, and orchestrated workflows.
- Collaborate with product, architecture, and engineering teams to ensure seamless connectivity.
- Contribute to CI/CD improvements and automated testing for integration pipelines.
- Provide technical leadership and mentor other engineers within the platform.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and continuously improve integration delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in integration engineering or API development using any enterprise integration platform.
- Strong grasp of API design, REST/SOAP, and data formats like JSON and XML.
- Solid understanding of security protocols such as OAuth2 and JWT.
- Experience connecting enterprise systems using APIs, messaging, or hybrid cloud integration models.
- Ability to analyze complex systems and build maintainable integration workflows.
- Strong collaboration mindset in an Agile environment.
- Curiosity and willingness to learn MuleSoft if it’s new to you.
Nice to Have
- Hands-on experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.
- Experience with event/streaming platforms such as Kafka.
- Knowledge of insurance or financial-services domains.
- Cloud experience (AWS, Azure) and modern DevOps pipelines.
