About the Role
We are looking for a Mid-Level Software Engineer - RegTech Remote to join our innovative team at Suade. As a key player in our mission to build world-leading regulatory technology, you will work closely with domain experts to translate complex financial and regulatory concepts into code. This role is perfect for experienced software engineers who are passionate about systemizing real-world problems and eager to learn about finance.
What You'll Do
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and lead the architecture and development of our regulatory portfolio.
- Contribute to the delivery of our product roadmap, shipping code that customers can use to solve their regulatory problems on the same day.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and Business Analysts to ensure effective communication and project success.
- Grow your coding skills and domain knowledge, becoming a reference point within the team.
- Participate in internal reviews and design sessions to keep our product up to date.
- Drive the adoption of best practices like TDD and code analysis.
- Consider non-functional requirements such as performance, security, and maintainability.
Requirements
- 3 - 5 years of relevant experience as a software engineer, particularly in Python.
- Practical experience with version control systems like Git and platforms such as GitHub or GitLab.
- Experience working with non-technical stakeholders and navigating ambiguity.
- Familiarity with unit tests, automated testing, and best practices.
- Exposure to large codebases involving multiple authors and features.
Nice to Have
- Comfortable using a Unix-based operating system (e.g., Ubuntu).
- Experience working in agile frameworks like Kanban or Scrum.
- Experience improving or refactoring existing code as requirements change.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Engineering.
- Personal, academic, or internship projects involving scripting, automation, or data handling.

Who Will Succeed Here
Proficient in Python with hands-on experience in developing regulatory technology solutions, including familiarity with libraries like Pandas and NumPy for data manipulation.
Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience in TDD (Test-Driven Development) practices, ensuring high-quality code through automated testing frameworks such as pytest or unittest.
