About the Role

We're excited to announce a unique opportunity for individuals interested in pursuing a career in medical billing and coding through our remote training program. This Medical Billing and Coding Training Program is designed to equip you with the skills necessary to thrive in the healthcare industry. As a participant, you will learn about health insurance, coding, and reimbursement processes, preparing you for a rewarding career in this essential field.

What You'll Do

• Engage in comprehensive online classroom training covering health insurance and multiple healthcare settings.
• Participate in a remote internship to gain hands-on experience in medical billing and coding.
• Complete an externship for practical training in a real-world environment.
• Become familiar with key coding systems including CPT®, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II.
• Prepare for industry-recognized certifications such as Certified Professional Biller (CPB) and Certified Professional Coder (CPC).

Requirements

• Must be a resident of California and live within 30-45 minutes of Oakland.
• Must be 18 years or older with a high school diploma or GED.
• U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite is beneficial.
• Ability to pass a national criminal background check.

Nice to Have

• Bilingual Spanish speaker preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with California billing practices.

What We Offer

• A total stipend of $31,200 distributed over approximately 44 weeks.
• Monthly Health Marketplace reimbursement up to $600.
• Internet stipend of $35/month for 44 weeks.
