Maintenance Electrician - Airport Systems

About the Role

We are excited to announce a new opportunity for a Maintenance Electrician remote position within the daa Cork Airport Electrical Department. The successful candidate will join a dedicated team of eleven electricians, reporting directly to the Electrical Supervisor. In this role, you will assist the electrical and mechanical team in maintaining critical systems such as airfield lighting, building services, and life safety systems across the airport campus.

What You'll Do

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks on airfield, terminal service, and life safety systems as required.
• Provide technical support for all new equipment installations.
• Utilize CMMS-based work systems to manage all work activities effectively.
• Analyze, report, and provide technical solutions to eliminate recurring equipment faults.
• Actively participate in identifying and implementing equipment and process improvement projects.
• Ensure active participation in all required training sessions.
• Carry out any other duties as required from time to time.

Requirements

• QQI level 6 Advanced Craft Certificate – Electrical or equivalent.
• Full Class B Driving license.
• Safe Pass certification.
• MEWP operator training (desirable).
• Excellent knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment and associated maintenance principles.
• Prior hands-on experience with SCADA/BMS systems (desirable).
• The ability to work independently and as part of a self-managed shift team in a dynamic environment that requires flexibility and initiative.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• A strong team player with a willingness to learn new skills and techniques to meet our changing technical and business environment.
• Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to present information clearly and concisely.
