Lead Hardware Design Engineer - Medical Technology

About the Role

We are hiring a Lead Hardware Design Engineer to join our innovative team at Advanced Energy. This Lead Hardware Design Engineer remote position focuses on developing cutting-edge technologies in the medical industry, specifically in electrosurgery generators and advanced power supply architectures.

What You'll Do

• Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers through the Product Development Process to create new technologies and products.
• Drive innovation by mentoring and inspiring team members while fostering a culture of collaboration and technical excellence.
• Contribute to the design and analysis of systems and subsystems, ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to product performance and reliability, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
• Collaborate with various departments, including New Product Implementation and quality assurance, to ensure successful product launches.
• Evaluate and implement advanced technologies for surgical energy applications, driving critical thinking and problem-solving.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering or a related field; a PhD or master’s degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in technical design and development, preferably in medical or high-reliability systems.
• Proven track record in developing power electronics prototypes and products.
• Strong knowledge of power conversion topologies and control systems.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to manage multiple projects effectively.

Nice to Have

• Experience with electrosurgical technologies or pulsed electric fields.
• Strong coaching and mentoring skills.
