Junior Full-Stack Software Engineer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

Join Vonage as a Junior Full-Stack Software Engineer and help us innovate cloud communications for businesses worldwide! This Junior Full-Stack Software Engineer remote position is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our Messaging team, which is responsible for delivering cutting-edge communication solutions across multiple platforms within Vonage.

What You'll Do

• Contribute to developing new features and maintaining existing systems within our messaging platform.
• Collaborate with experienced team members in both frontend and backend development.
• Learn and apply software engineering best practices (testing, version control, CI/CD, etc.).
• Participate in code reviews, team discussions, and Agile ceremonies.
• Help troubleshoot and resolve production issues with guidance from senior developers.
• Continuously grow your skills through hands-on experience and mentorship.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in software development (professional or academic/personal projects).
• Knowledge of at least one programming language (Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python).
• Familiarity with basic web development principles (frontend or backend).
• Exposure to databases (relational or non-relational).
• Eagerness to learn cloud technologies and modern software engineering practices.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative, global team.

Nice to Have

• Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) or containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD workflows.
• Understanding of REST APIs or microservices.
• Bachelor's degree (completed or in progress) in Computer Science or related field.
