Junior Data Scientist - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

Join our team as a Junior Data Scientist in a remote capacity! At Years, we are revolutionizing dog food with a mission to help dogs live longer, healthier lives. As a Junior Data Scientist, you will play a crucial role in analyzing data, building models, and generating insights that drive our data-driven decisions.

What You'll Do

• Collect, clean, and preprocess data from various sources to support our growing data team.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
• Build and validate basic statistical models and machine learning models under the guidance of senior team members.
• Communicate findings through reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver actionable insights.
• Document data processes, analyses, and methodologies to ensure reproducibility and transparency.

Requirements

• A degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Python, R, or a similar programming language for data analysis.
• Experience working with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, matplotlib, seaborn).
• Familiarity with SQL and relational databases.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Eagerness to learn new tools, techniques, and concepts.
• A flexible and dynamic mindset.

Nice to Have

• Internship or academic project experience involving data analysis or modeling.
• Exposure to cloud platforms.
• Experience with version control tools like Git.
