About the Role

We are seeking a Junior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to implement and support our community-driven OpenStack-based private cloud infrastructure. This Junior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer remote position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with senior engineers to help maintain, automate, and improve the scalability, resilience, and performance of our cloud platforms.

What You'll Do

  • Support the operation of multi-tenant OpenStack private cloud environments running in on-premises data centers.
  • Assist in provisioning, configuring, and maintaining Ubuntu KVM hypervisors, OpenStack services, and Kubernetes clusters.
  • Work alongside senior engineers on data center infrastructure, including compute, storage, and networking components.

  • Participate in incident response, troubleshooting Linux, virtualization, storage, and networking issues, escalating when needed.
  • Assist with high availability and disaster recovery practices across infrastructure components.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Pulumi.
  • Solid Linux administration skills (Ubuntu, RHEL, CentOS) with basic scripting in Bash or Python.
  • Familiarity with Git-based workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and automation concepts.
  • Ability to work in 24×7 production environments and participate in on-call rotations.

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to data center hardware such as Cisco UCS or similar server platforms.
  • Familiarity with software-defined storage solutions.
  • Experience supporting high-availability or multi-region OpenStack clusters.
  • Background in telco, edge cloud, or large enterprise infrastructure environments.
