Intake Specialist - Remote Healthcare Administration

What You'll Do

• Accurately enter referrals within the established timeframe, meeting productivity and quality standards.
• Communicate with referral sources, physicians, and associated staff to ensure documentation is routed appropriately.
• Work with leadership to ensure appropriate inventory and services are provided to patients.
• Collect payments from patients and document their financial responsibilities accurately.
• Review medical records for compliance standards prior to service delivery.
• Demonstrate expert knowledge of payer guidelines and read clinical documentation to determine qualification status.
• Supervise and provide guidance to team members, leading team meetings and training sessions.
• Prepare reports and analyses on team performance and operational metrics.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
• One year of work-related experience in healthcare administration, customer service, or insurance.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and healthcare software applications.

Nice to Have

• Experience in a healthcare organization or pharmacy that bills insurance.
• Knowledge of Medicare guidelines and payer policies.
• Experience with EMR systems.
