Information Technology Manager - Manufacturing Execution Systems (Onsite)

About the Role

We are seeking an Information Technology Manager to join our team in the MES Division. This role is primarily onsite in Cottondale, Alabama, and offers relocation assistance for candidates who are U.S. citizens or Green Card holders. As an Information Technology Manager, you will provide high-level technical and operational support across manufacturing systems, focusing on Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and plant-floor technology. You will lead a team responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of critical manufacturing processes.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee and manage MES systems to monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in real time, minimizing production downtime.
  • Create, modify, and maintain logic and workflows within the MES system using the IRS program to automate and optimize production processes.
  • Design, test, and implement changes within MES to support operational logic.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to gather requirements and translate them into system updates.
  • Maintain and optimize SQL jobs, databases, and scripts that support MES functionality.
  • Provide hands-on support for printers, barcode scanners, and PBL controllers on the manufacturing floor.
  • Lead and coordinate IT and MES support teams, ensuring effective project execution and operational coverage.
  • Serve as a technical lead for plant-level MES and IT infrastructure initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years of IT experience, with at least 3+ years in a manufacturing or automotive environment.
  • Proven leadership experience managing IT or MES teams in a production environment.
  • High-level MES experience including logic creation and system optimization.
  • Strong technical background in SQL, network troubleshooting, and Microsoft technologies.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP.
  • Programming experience in C# or similar languages.
