Information Systems Security Specialist - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

JT4 Point Mugu is seeking an Information Systems Security Specialist to enhance our cybersecurity initiatives. This Information Systems Security Specialist remote role is pivotal in assessing, developing, and implementing programs and controls to bolster our cybersecurity framework. You will join a dedicated team focused on ensuring the integrity and security of our information systems.

What You'll Do

  • Monitor information systems and maintain operational environments, including developing and updating System Security Plans.
  • Manage and control changes to systems, conduct audits, and provide incident response.
  • Prepare for vulnerability assessments and assess the security impact of changes.
  • Collaborate with the Facility Security Office and Information Security Officer.
  • Assist in writing and maintaining computer security processes compliant with Air Force Risk Management Framework.
  • Monitor computer system use and audit logs to ensure compliance.
  • Provide security training and awareness briefings to staff.
  • Make recommendations for future hardware/software implementations and process improvements.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or higher in Computer/Information Technology or equivalent technical training.
  • 2-3 years of experience in computer system security or related fields.
  • Compliance with DoD 8570.01-M levels and Security+ certification (CISSP preferred).
  • Experience with JSIG, NIST 800, and NISPOM, Chapter 8.
  • Broad knowledge of computer security principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Access, and Visio.
  • Experience with various system configurations including Stand Alone, Local Area Networks, and Wide Area Networks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, planning, and organizational abilities.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a field environment with remote locations.
  • Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license.
