About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Heavy-Duty Diesel Technician to join our team at Safe Site Utility Services. This role requires expertise in diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a variety of heavy-duty vehicles, including Hydrovac trucks and semi-trucks. As a Heavy-Duty Diesel Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our fleet operates efficiently and safely, contributing to our commitment to excellence in service.

What You'll Do

  • Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on Hydrovac trucks, semi-trucks, and half-ton trucks according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Accurately interpret work orders, service manuals, and technical diagrams to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical system failures.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT, MSA, and OSHA regulations while documenting all work performed using established procedures and maintenance systems.
  • Communicate additional repair needs to the Fleet Manager and assist in training and mentoring other technicians.
  • Maintain a high level of safety awareness and adhere to safe work practices in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy-duty construction equipment, Hydrovac/Vacuum trucks, or fleet repair.
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
  • Class A or B CDL preferred but not required; must maintain an approved MVR.
  • Personal hand tools required to perform the job.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong teamwork and interpersonal abilities.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with emerging technologies and computer-based maintenance systems.
  • Willingness to work 10–12 hours a day and occasional weekends as required.
