Health and Safety Officer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Officer to join MSL Engineering, a leader in mechanical engineering contracting. This Health and Safety Officer role offers a unique opportunity to work remotely while ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance within our projects. You will play a crucial role in implementing our ISO45001 & ISO14001 Safety & Environmental Management System, contributing to a culture of safety and excellence.

What You'll Do

• Implement and maintain MSL's ISO45001 & ISO14001 Safety & Environmental Management System.
• Manage site safety folders and conduct daily inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Participate in daily whiteboard meetings and weekly safety meetings to discuss safety protocols and updates.
• Complete weekly toolbox talks and site audits to promote safety awareness among team members.
• Update project managers and construction managers on safety matters and monthly safety alerts.
• Liaise with clients and PSCS on safety matters to ensure a collaborative approach to safety management.
• Deliver site-specific safety inductions to new employees and contractors.
• Return monthly KPIs to the EHS Director for review and action.

Requirements

• Safety Advisor with a Diploma in Safety, Health, and Welfare at Work (SHWW) or a recognized equivalent.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a health and safety role.
• Mechanical background is preferable but not essential.
• Experience in the pharmaceutical industry is required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with clients and team members.

Nice to Have

• Additional certifications in health and safety management.
• Experience with ISO standards and safety audits.
• Knowledge of environmental management systems.
