Finance & Accounting Consultant (CPA) - Remote

About the Role

Alloy Automation is seeking a Finance & Accounting Consultant (CPA) - Remote to join our innovative team. In this role, you will help shape our AI-powered finance agents that automate essential accounting workflows for mid-market companies. You will see the immediate impact of your contributions as we replace manual processes with autonomous agents that enhance efficiency and accuracy.

What You'll Do

• Partner with Engineering and Product Development (EPD) to define and validate workflows for reconciliation and month-end close management.
• Serve as the internal authority on GAAP compliance and month-end close best practices.
• Review and pressure-test agent outputs against real-world accounting standards.
• Inform SOX compliance requirements, including segregation of duties.
• Help design rules for agent autonomy and human intervention.
• Contribute to product roadmap decisions across Finance phases.
• Join customer calls as a domain expert for financial discussions.
• Support Customer Success during implementation with workflow advice.
• Create marketing content that positions Alloy as a leader in finance automation.
• Help build sales enablement materials grounded in accounting workflows.

Requirements

• Active CPA license and experience in a startup or high-growth tech company.
• Experience as a controller or senior accounting manager.
• Direct ownership of month-end close and financial reporting.
• Deep understanding of controllers' workflows and pain points.
• Experience improving close processes and internal controls.
• Working knowledge of ERP systems (NetSuite, QuickBooks, etc.).
• Exposure to SOX compliance and audit coordination.
• Strong communicator for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Familiarity with AI/ML products or curiosity about AI in finance.
• Comfort with ambiguity in a first-of-its-kind role.
