Shopify Engineer - Remote Position

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Shopify Engineer to join our remote team at VONQ NL. As a Shopify Engineer, you will play a crucial role in delivering top-notch eCommerce solutions for our clients. This position allows you to work on exciting Shopify Plus projects, including custom theme development and headless commerce implementations, all while collaborating with a diverse team of designers, strategists, and developers. What You'll Do

• Develop and implement custom Shopify themes and applications to meet client needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and enhance eCommerce solutions.
• Utilize Liquid templating and modern front-end technologies such as JavaScript and React.
• Work with Shopify Plus and the Shopify API to create robust eCommerce functionalities.
• Engage in hands-on development using Shopify's Hydrogen framework and headless commerce approaches.
• Participate in weekly training activities and share knowledge with team members.
• Manage client relationships and provide consulting services as needed.
• Stay updated on eCommerce trends and best practices to ensure high-quality deliverables.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience developing on the Shopify platform.
• Proficiency with Liquid templating and Shopify Theme development.
• Strong skills in JavaScript, React, and modern front-end technologies.
• Understanding of eCommerce fundamentals and best practices.
• Effective communication skills for working with both teammates and clients.
• Inclusive, community-driven mindset with eagerness to learn and share knowledge.
• Hands-on experience with Shopify app development (both public and private apps).
• Familiarity with GraphQL and Shopify's Admin API.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Shopify's checkout extensions and customizations.
• Knowledge of Ruby on Rails for custom Shopify app development.
• Past consulting or client management experience.
