Field CTO - Remote Opportunity at Celonis

About the Role

We're seeking a visionary Field CTO to join Celonis, the global leader in Process Intelligence technology. This is a unique opportunity to work remotely and make a significant impact by driving innovation and aligning technology with business strategies. As a Field CTO, you will serve as a high-impact technical advisor for our most strategic prospects and customers, translating complex business transformations into scalable technical strategies.

What You'll Do

• Serve as a trusted advisor to C-level executives, aligning their long-term strategic goals with the Celonis technical vision.
• Lead the overarching data, cloud, and innovation strategy for our largest global accounts, utilizing methodologies like Capability Mapping.
• Architect innovative solutions using emergent technologies like Agentic AI to solve complex enterprise challenges.
• Partner with Sales and Value Engineering to drive revenue through new customer acquisition and strategic up-selling.
• Act as a critical feedback loop between our Product & Engineering teams and the market, ensuring the voice of the customer shapes our future offerings.
• Develop and deliver customer-facing position papers, assets, and presentations that establish our brand as a leader in architecture and innovation.

Requirements

• 15 to 20 years of relevant experience, ideally as a CTO at a consulting firm or as Field CTO at a software vendor.
• Proven track record of presenting complex technical visions to C-suite stakeholders.
• Deep experience in Enterprise Modernization and a robust understanding of Agentic AI.
• Expertise in SAP S4/HANA transformations is essential.
• Excellent background in Data Architecture, API ecosystems, and cloud-native SaaS solutions.
• MSc degree in Computer Science or an equivalent IT-related field.
• Fluency in German and English is required; proficiency in Spanish, French, or Italian is a strong advantage.

Nice to Have

• Certifications: TOGAF/Zachmann, AWS/Azure/GCP, and ESB/ETL certifications.
• Experience across at least two domains (e.g., Finance, Supply Chain) and two industries (e.g., Pharma, Banking).
