What You'll Do
- Manage and supervise the farm's activities, ensuring operational excellence and adherence to safety standards.
- Collaborate with the Farm Manager on daily management and performance metrics.
- Lead a team of Leading Hands and Machinery Operators, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Monitor and manage crop health in partnership with the independent agronomy team.
- Operate modern farming machinery for planting, spraying, and harvesting.
- Contribute to the development of farm culture and employee engagement aligned with company values.
- Utilize precision agriculture systems to enhance farm productivity.
- Ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety regulations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in broadacre cropping and large-scale agricultural operations.
- Strong knowledge of dryland winter crops and their management.
- Excellent leadership skills with a track record of mentoring and coaching team members.
- High initiative and self-motivation to drive results.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with agronomists and contractors.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new farming practices and technologies.
- Ability to operate various types of farm machinery safely.
