What You'll Do

  • Manage and supervise the farm's activities, ensuring operational excellence and adherence to safety standards.
  • Collaborate with the Farm Manager on daily management and performance metrics.
  • Lead a team of Leading Hands and Machinery Operators, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and manage crop health in partnership with the independent agronomy team.
  • Operate modern farming machinery for planting, spraying, and harvesting.
  • Contribute to the development of farm culture and employee engagement aligned with company values.
  • Utilize precision agriculture systems to enhance farm productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in broadacre cropping and large-scale agricultural operations.
  • Strong knowledge of dryland winter crops and their management.
  • Excellent leadership skills with a track record of mentoring and coaching team members.
  • High initiative and self-motivation to drive results.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with agronomists and contractors.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new farming practices and technologies.
  • Ability to operate various types of farm machinery safely.
